Packaging sample confirmation checklist: 12 items to check before mass production

Updated: 2026-07-26 · Reviewed by Monebuy Packaging Procurement Team

Checkpoints for dimensions, color, printing, strength, content compatibility, and transportation testing when checking packaging samples and proofs.

Compatibility of dimensions and contents

We measure not only the outside dimensions but also the inside dimensions, and then check the product, cushioning material, and instructions by actually putting it inside. Check the seal width and opening for bags, and the ease of assembly and lid retention for boxes. It is important to reproduce the weight and center of gravity when filled.

printing and finishing

Compare the extent of missing text, barcode reading, logo position, special colors, varnish, foil stamping, and lamination with approval data. Since the colors displayed on the screen and the actual product may differ, please share color samples or specified values for important colors.

Tests assuming mass production and transportation

Check dropping, stacking, vibration, temperature/humidity, friction, and seal strength according to the application. By documenting pass/fail criteria, tolerances, inspection methods, and limit samples before mass production, you can reduce differences in recognition after delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Q. Can I approve just by the color on the screen?

A. Not recommended if color is important. Please check with a physical color sample or proof sample.

Q. Will there be any difference even after sample approval?

A. There are tolerances depending on the printing method and material lot. Please agree on tolerances in advance.
